NJSACC’s 24-25 Professional Development Workshops

Although the ultimate goal is to support children and youth in inclusive school-age programs, we achieve it by empowering the adult staff and providers through quality training. Learn tips for gathering information about the adult learner’s interests and needs, tricks for navigating challenging conversations and interactions, and tools to strengthen your presentation and coaching skills. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own experiences through engaging group activities, and will leave with new resources for their training and coaching toolboxes. This workshop is most appropriate for staff supervisors, trainers, and resource specialists.

Back for another year, this popular, grant funded, cost free peer group for Out-of-School Time (OST) professionals is accepting applications for new members! As a close knit networking community and safe space, this is a unique opportunity to share support, news, advice, and troubleshoot issues with other leaders doing similar work in the OST field in NJ. This group meets every 3rd Thursday of the month via zoom (October-June). Space is limited, so please apply ASAP.

Take the next step in supporting positive behavior & inclusion in your school age OST program. Join our newest Peer Learning Community (PLC)! Facilitated by inclusion specialist Philip Collazo of Kids Included together (KIT) & NJSACC staff, this PLC will take a monthly deep dive via zoom into supporting positive behavior and inclusion in school age OST programs. FEE: $99 for all 6 sessions

In this virtual session, our Kids Inclusion Together (KIT) trainer will guide us in exploring how to use the four guiding principles of inclusion and the KIT support pyramid to build a program that strengthens inclusion and behavior support. Autism Spectrum Disorder and neurodiversity can impact the developmental skills of youth in a variety of ways that can affect their participation and relationships in ways that may prove challenging. Join us, and our trainer from Kids Included Together (KIT), for this virtual workshop exploring strategies to support social interactions, communication, and the sensory processing needs of the youth in your care. Positive relationships are the foundation for supporting youth, but making connections with every youth is not always easy, especially with youth who consistently show concerning or unsafe behavior. In this virtual workshop, led by our Kids Included Together (KIT) trainer, we’ll gain tools and explore how self-reflection and acknowledgement can be used to build trust and positive relationships.
