Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center Hosts FREE Math PD - MLB Players STEM League - Wed Mar 20
You’ve been invited to have your students or program participate in an exciting free new program. Are you ready to hit a home run and improve your students’ math and social emotional skills? MLB Players STEM League is for you!
Learn Fresh implemented in partnership with MLB Players Trust, a baseball-inspired program for grades 4-8, featuring a board game, curriculum, and special program events! Allows students to be the manager of their own baseball team with players from across MLB, building fundamental math and social-emotional skills, as well as a cultural awareness of player diversity within the league.
The STEM League board game features the real stats of current MLB stars, including players from every country represented in Major League Baseball. Students compete to solve math problems and score points in a timed setting, working with arithmetic, decimals, percentages, and fractions while building fluency and algebra-readiness. The curriculum is tied to Common Core State Standards and 21st Century Learning Skills, and offers a series of adaptable lessons, allowing students to develop important executive function and social-emotional skills while taking a deeper dive into stats and data analysis in the game.
