Protect Your Campers and Staff from Wildfire Smoke
The Canadian wildfire smoke is impacting camps throughout Eastern and Central United States. We encourage all camps to monitor air quality, follow the guidance of local health agencies, and have a plan to keep all campers and staff safe from the impacts of wildfire smoke.
Check Air Quality in Your Area
The US Air Quality Index (AQI) is the EPA’s index for reporting air quality. The higher the AQI value, the greater the level of air pollution and the greater the health concern.
Outdoor Activity Guidance for Schools
As you develop your wildfire smoke response plans, consider using the Air Quality and Outdoor Activity guidance that has been developed for schools. As always, follow the guidance of your local health agencies.
