Strategic Planning for American Rescue Plan Act CCDF Discretionary Supplemental Funds
The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARP Act) (Pub. Law 117-2), signed on March 11, 2021, includes $14.99 billion in supplemental Child Care and Development (CCDF) Discretionary Funds to help states, territories, and Tribes recover from the COVID-19 pandemic and rebuild a better child care system.
The funding represents an unprecedented opportunity to give parents equal access to high-quality child care, support the developmental and learning needs of children, meet parents’ employment needs and child care preferences, and support a professionalized workforce that is fairly and appropriately compensated for the essential skilled work that they do.
