NJSACC's Fall Professional Development Series Continues - Don't Miss it!

NJSACC: The Statewide Network for New Jersey’s Afterschool Communities has been very busy preparing a full menu of professional development opportunities for the fall. We encourage you to take a look at each of the following offerings and then register to join us using the links provided below (where available):

RE-IMAGINE AFTERSCHOOL: Indoor Environment - 10/18/22

This interactive workshop explores the components of quality out-of-school time programs based on the book “Imagine: Afterschool Space That Works” written by Mav Pardee and published by NJSACC. Participants will re-imagine and redesign their own out-of-school time space to include outdoor and virtual classrooms as we all step into our new normal utilizing best practices learned from these past challenging years. This workshop is appropriate for all staff and Family Child Care (FCC) providers that work directly with kids and is offered via zoom.

  • Tuesday, 10/18/22 – Time: 6:30pm – 7:30pm

IN ORDER TO ATTEND THIS TRAINING, YOU MUST OBTAIN A NJ WORKFORCE REGISTRY NUMBER.

Please follow these steps to sign up for the NJ Workforce Registry:

  1. Go to www.njccis.com and click Log In in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
  2. On the next screen click Register in the gray bar that asks if you are a new user.
  3. On the next screen fill in all the required information.  It will ask you what you are requesting approval for.  Please select the option that best describes your position.  For afterschool providers either Director, ECE Assistant Teacher or ECE Teacher will be the best match.  Then click Register in the lower right-hand corner.
  4. You should receive an email to activate your account.
  5. Once activated, search for this training using Event ID: 133424 here.

Planning Group Time for Diverse Learners - 11/22/22

This training presents unique considerations and guides participants to explore youth development, brain science, and inclusion practices towards working with and planning for a broad range of youth ages and abilities. This grant funded workshop is appropriate for all staff and Family Child Care (FCC) providers and is offered via zoom in the evening to make it easily accessible to all who work in school age child care.

Teaching Heritage Months With Power & Purpose - 12/6/22

Exploring Heritage Month themes with school age youth offers unique opportunities to weave powerful diversity, equity, and inclusion themes into your day-to-day programming. In this engaging, hands-on workshop, explore resources and learn techniques to make exploring our own and other cultures an invaluable, lasting, and meaningful experience for youth and staff. This program is appropriate for all who work with school age youth.
